We’ve got shows to catch and some new and returning folks at TCTC this summer!
John and Eric in the “History Plays” at the Guthrie
In case you haven’t already heard, our director John Catron and acting coach and assistant director Eric Sharp are in Shakespeare’s “History Plays” (Richard II, Henry IV, and Henry V) at the Guthrie Theater. Although the shows have been running since March 30th, you still have a couple more weeks to catch a performance. The shows close on May 24th and May 25th.
Tim Kraack’s The Logic Pit at Saint Paul Academy
The Logic Pit, music director Tim Kraack’s rock musical about corporate drudgery, artificial intelligence, and our relationship to work, will have its second ever performance next weekend! The show, which premiered in 2022 at Twin Cities Theater Camp will make its high-school premiere with a cast of 27 teenagers (and 9 elementary schoolers) at the Huss Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is free, and we hope to see some TCTC students at the shows! Tim will be playing in the pit along with 2024’s music director Clea Gaïtas Sur. While you wait for next weekend, check out the article in the current MyVillager about Tim, the shows history at TCTC, and the current production at SPA. For a special treat, stick around after the Friday show for a talkback with Tim and cast members including one actor who was in the original TCTC production!
Junior Staff for 2024
We’re excited to welcome back many of our wonderful junior staff from last year as well as some new faces to our organization! Here’s who you’ll be working with this year:
Megan Gile, Soul Thao, Lucy Cowen, and Val Wick will all be returning to camp this summer!
We’re excited to welcome Triniti Lathrop who is new to TCTC this year, as well as some returning camp graduates, Cassidy Aicken and Mason Yang.
We also welcome Anja Seifert who will be the Assistant Music Director working with Clea.
Summer is just around the corner!
Have a great final few weeks of the school year! We’re looking forward to starting TCTC 2024 at our new location and getting deep into Matilda soon with everyone. We hope to see you at The Logic Pit next weekend, and stay tuned for more announcements from Twin Cities Theater Camp.
